Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. is a pioneer Construction Organization established in 1924, operating in India and abroad and undertaking Construction of Engineering Projects for both Public and Private Sector Clients. The Company is also widely known in the Construction Industry in the name of ‘GDCL’, short form of Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd.
To keep pace with the rapidly growing Indian economy and to cater to the rapid development in both Infrastructure and Industrial fields, GDCL, since its inception, has been lending its best contribution in all the fields of Nation Building, be it for Infrastructure development, e.g. Roads & Highways, Bridges, Flyovers, Railways, Metro Rails, Airports, etc. or be it for Industrial development such as setting up of Power Plants, Oil Refineries, Cement Plant, Steel Plants, Alumina Plants and other Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metal plants, Sugar Mill, Textile Mill, etc. on a large scale.
The Company has also executed many Landmark Building Projects and has been executing many Real Estate and High-rise Building Projects such as Town-ships, Residential & Commercial Complexes, Malls, Data Centers, IT Buildings, Institutional Buildings, Hospitals and Medical Colleges etc.
Besides above, GDCL , through its specialized Water Management Division, has also been taking care of the Environment by playing its role in undertaking major Environmental Construction Projects such as mega Water and Effluent Treatment Plants, Sewage Treatment Plants, Irrigation and Canal Projects, etc. on Turnkey basis. GDCL is also in the business of supplying and installing Baggage Conveyors for the Airports across the Country through its Material Handling Division.
GDCL’s Pre-stressed Concrete Railway Sleeper Factory Unit at Rayagada, Odisha contributes to Indian Railways by supplying about 1 (One) Lakh sleepers annually.
In order to provide the Services by meeting all international standards of Quality, Environmental & Occupational Health Safety the Company has obtained IMS Certification covering ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 to demonstrate itself as a Quality, Occupational Health Safety and Environmental compliant Engineering Construction Company.
GDCL has a distinct privilege of successfully executing over 3000 projects in India and abroad with consistent quality assurance, cost control and adherence to milestones in a safe environment.
The Company has four Regional Engineering Divisions located at Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata besides Water Management Division at Delhi and Material Handling Division at Kolkata to cater to the needs of Clients across the country under one roof as General/EPC Contractors.

Gannon Dunkerley & Co., Ltd. (GDCL) is an ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified company whose Integrated Management System (IMS) is accredited by URS, UK. All projects of GDCL are executed in accordance with approved Plan under IMS which are regularly audited by Internal Auditors and by URS representatives. Managing Director (MD) holds Quarterly Management Review Meetings with all Divisional Heads to review the Integrated Management System in GDCL and monitors the set targets given to various Divisions. He reviews the status of Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (Q & HSE) and gives directions for continual improvement of Integrated (Q & HSE) Management System in GDCL.
Highest priority is given to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment by the company. The Q & HSE Policy enunciated by the Company lays emphasis on Quality, Health, Safety and Environment through a structured approach. Systems and procedures have been laid down for implementing at all stages of construction. Head of the Q & HSE Department is Management Representative (MR) and operates in MD’s Office and directly reports to the MD on all matters relating to Q & HSE. MR is assisted by the Associate Management Representative (AMR) of each Division. Each AMR in turn monitors implementation of Q & HSE measures through Site Quality & HSE Officers posted at the Project Sites. Divisional Heads are assisted by Quality and HSE Managers to oversee the working of Quality and HSE Officers at the Project Sites. Integrated Management System is operating as per ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 in all Offices and Project Sites of GDCL. Besides the enforcement of required measures and management controls, Personal Protective Equipment as per needs of the operations, are provided. Health, Safety & Environmental awareness among employees is created and maintained through regular training programmes. Management interacts with the Work Force by regular meetings and has adopted Risk Based thinking in managing all the Projects. GDCL has opted for Integrated Management System as per ISO 9001:2015 (For Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (For Environmental Management System) and ISO 45001:2018 (For Safety Management System) with effect from 01 April 2019. The Integrated Management System is being followed in all offices and Project Sites of GDCL and regular internal and external audits are conducted and reviewed by top management during the Management Review Meetings on quarterly basis for continual improvement in the Integrated Management System.
